The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been advised to use technology for the 2023 general elections so as to curb ballot box snatching. Dr Babatope Agbeyo, the chairman of Cornfield Group of Companies made this appeal while speaking about insecurity in Nigeria at the 2022 annual lecture which was organized by the Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN).

In the lecture which had the theme “Insecurity : Tackling the dark cloud over Nigeria’s Unity, Prosperity ahead of the 2023 general elections”, Mr Agbeyo noted that, the use of technology would make it difficult for hoodlums to snatch ballot boxes in the polls.

Therefore, the Inspector General Of Police (IG) Mr Alkali Usman has appealed to Nigerians to collaborate with security agencies so as to ensure peace in the country during the 2023 general elections and beyond.

The Inspector General of Police was represented by Adeyinka Adeleke, the Assistant Inspector General who is in charge of zone 11, stressed that, maintaining peace and security in the country is a collective effort, and Nigerians must play their part wholeheartedly to enthron peace and security in the country.
