6 Ways to Start a Profitable Pure Water Business in Nigeria

 1. Factory Location

You will need a special location for your pure water business. In fact, it’s against NAFDAC’s (Nigerian Food and Drug Administration) regulations to set up this type of business in your home. It’s most recommended to buy land and build a warehouse. You don’t need a complex building, but enough to produce a bulk of water supplies and specifications. Only a small warehouse with a few rooms should suffice. However, it’s important that the site is kept in good hygienic condition.

2. NAFDAC Registration

You will need to register your pure water business under NAFDAC. Without NAFDAC’s approval and certification, you cannot produce pure water in Nigeria. Therefore, go to the nearest NAFDAC office to get your list of approval requirements or download it from their website. This is the most important step in creating a pure water business in Nigeria. Thus, it will cost at least N30,000 to register.

3. Water Sources

In the pure water business, you will need a constant source of clean water. Although some purified water producers use wells and other sources of water supply, this is not recommended. It is always better to dig a well that ensures you have access to clean water at all times.

4. Water Purification System

What makes your water different and marketable is the fact that it is purified. Therefore, you need a water purifier with a very dense fixation system. Such as distillation, carbon filtration, ultraviolet light filtration, reverse osmosis, etc. In fact, reverse osmosis and ultraviolet light filtration are the most commonly used water filtration systems in Nigeria.

5. Factory Workers

There are a lot of procedures involved in the making of pure water for business. It’s not something one person can handle. You will need people to help you with loading and unloading gallons of water, doing accounting, supervising, or even driving. Therefore, be prepared to hire people to help you with these functions.

6. Find a Distributor

It’s always useful to have a registered and reliable distributor to help with your business. They offer their products at special and reduced prices. Thus, in turn, you’ll be able to sell to others for a profit. Therefore, finding distributors will guarantee faster and easier distribution of your products.
