Lately, the term remote work is one thing that many new employees are aiming to have. It has flexibility and seems to be more fun to have compared to regular office work. But did you know that it has different purposes and may not apply to all careers? Let’s find out which one is best.

      Remote work vs. Office work

The first thing you need to do is to know where your passion is. Many people take passion for granted and regret their decision later. Anyhow, some people are not so lucky. They have to choose between remote and office work. Of course, each person has their reasons and considerations before deciding. But for you who can’t decide, you should check

Pros and Cons of Remote Work

Flexibility is the primary reason why people choose to work from home. You can choose to do all of your workload at once or split them into several sessions.  Of course, you need to have good time management.

Increased Savings is often the next reason why people choose to work remotely. To be fair, you can cut the cost and time on transportation. This is especially helpful if you have to spend hours on the road. And with the gas price continuing to rise, you may be less effective when you have to come to the office.

Isolation is one thing that many remote workers have to face. Since working alone means they have no colleagues to talk to. Some people can take this the hard way and lead to depression when they’re not careful.

Pros and Cons of Office Work

Career growth and access to resources are some of the advantages of office work. You will have access to some of the latest technology. You also can continue to advance your career. Most office workers are likely to receive promotions within their first five years.

Having colleagues with whom you can talk and work can mean a lot. They can be your mentor and guide you in navigating the office life.

However, office work also means more stress and limited flexibility. You can’t take a vacation at random times. As you are also likely to return late from working overtime.

      On How to Decide

Several jobs that you can’t do remotely are food and beverage services, oil and gas, and hospitality. They need to commute and provide their services to keep the economy going. In these fields, even AI or robots still need manpower to do the troubleshooting.

Before deciding, you should check your previous experiences. Some people want to switch from office to remote just because they want to, and vice versa. It’s good to build experiences and find which work style suits you best.

The best job is the one that you do with love. However, if you have to choose between office and remote work, which one will you choose? Or do you prefer to have the hybrid option? We sure love to hear which one you prefer more and why. So don’t forget to leave a comment.
