‘God When’, as if I arrived where I am overnight. The reason you didn’t know me before now was because I was in my process phase.
The first picture is me training our staff in 2014, and some paid students in our 3-bedroom shared office space. I had 1 room, which was used both as a training room and office space for staff. The main tenant had 2 rooms, one for his studio and the other as his own office.
I remained faithful even in that little beginning. This picture was my second office ever in Lagos State, meaning it was bigger than the first office in Lagos which was one room office. I lost the first office because I couldn’t afford to renew the rent and operated from home for another 2 years before being able to afford a second office.
I am sharing this for those of you who like to say, ‘God When’, as if I arrived where I am overnight. The reason you didn’t know me before now was because I was in my process phase. This is how life works. You stay consistent for 15 years and @forbes calls you overnight success so that the story can be sweet, but you know deep down how long you have been on this journey and how many times you almost gave up.
For those who see me train staff in any of our 9 branches across the globe in great locations and massive office space, remember where I started. Only the grave starts from the top, start small!
Consistency is the secret of this game! See this verse; “Seest thou a man diligent in his business, he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men” – Proverbs 22:29 KJV.
When next you see my face, take out the thinking of overnight success! For the first 5 years of my business, my office was in my 1 room self contain apartment that I lived in. There is no way such thing as luck in business. A lazy man thinks a successful man is lucky. The question is, why are you also not lucky? Did anyone curse you not to be lucky? Wake up from all these fantasies and start your own journey now! Years later you will look back and discover, it’s worth it.
Haven come from this low background, someone now thinks I shouldn’t celebrate my little wins. Those who saw me crawling must see me flying guys. It’s just how life works, your result must terminate the insults you got on your way to the top.
Keep hustling and be proud of your legitimate hustle. There is dignity in righteous labour.
