Can We Use Venmo App in Nigeria?

Venmo app

Datar portal estimates Nigeria has 122.5 million internet users when 2023 first begins due to the nation’s growing internet use. This prediction is supported by data showing a 2.9 million rise in internet users between 2022 and 2023.

Nowadays, E-commerce is transforming the Nigerian economy. The e-commerce industry has recent reports that it has a significant impact on many industries. It has led to big online transactions, particularly in recent years. Let’s look at how the e-commerce revolution has affected Nigeria’s economy. One platform used in Nigeria is the Venmo app.

Venmo app is an application for receiving and sending money in Nigeria. Many sources say this app is not working for international business, is it true?

Does Venmo work in Nigeria?

Since every transfer that Venmo executes requires that both the sender and beneficiary are connected to US bank account information, it is not possible to utilize Venmo internationally to send money to friends or family who reside abroad. It also applies to Canada, despite being near to the US, so it is not possible to use Venmo to send money to a buddy who resides in Canada and is over the border.

Even though this could be terrible news if you wish to use Venmo abroad, it isn’t! When it comes to inexpensive, hassle-free international money transfers, there are options to consider.

How to sign up for Azimo

  • Install the Azimo
  • While iPhone users may download the software via the software Store, Android users can do so from the Play Store.
  • Offer personal information, your full name, email address, and password must be provided. You will receive a confirmation email once Azimo confirms the information, at which point you can send your first transfer.

How to use the Azimo app to send money

  • Install the Azimo app first.
  • Register on the app. After selecting “new transfer,” select “send to someone new.”
  • Enter a sum.

In the blank field box, type the sum you wish to send. The amount is automatically converted by Azimo into the recipient’s currency. It will also display the matching delivery options offered for the currency you selected.

  • Add a recipient, then.

You’ll see “add a recipient” on the new page that appears; touch on it. Make sure the information you enter into Azimo is accurate before continuing.

The information questioned are :

  • First and last name of your intended recipient.
  • Inbox address
  • Address and location of your addressee.
  • Your recipient’s banking information
  • Branch name or code
  • Payment reference, if provided.
  • SWIFT-BIC (only for SWIFT transfers).

A drawback of Azimo is the number of banks it can support. It only works with three banks, so if you want to utilize their payment service, you’ll need to open an account with one of them if you don’t already have one. But this app can be the alternative to use if you cannot use Venmo app since it requires you for having access to a US bank account. Anyway, you can use both ways adjusted to what you need and which one is applicable for you.
