Black Panther, Netflix, ABC Earns Award Nominations
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) on Thursday awarded the Black Panther; Wakanda Forever with 12 image Awards Nominations, while Netflix and ABC emerged as the top nominees. The film digs into Wakanda’s sorrowful state when T’Challa departed, a role which was played by Chadwick Boseman who passed on in 2020.
However, “The Woman King” featuring Viola Davis as well as the ABC television series “Abbott Elementary” and Quinta Brunson received 9 nods each. While, Mary J. Blige, Davis, and Brunson, Angela Bassett, and Zendaya are nominated as entertainers of the year.
On February 25, 8 pm, EST, the awards honoring writers and also entertainers would be aired live on California, Pasadena, and On Bet.
The scheduled two-hour show would be showcased in the presence of the audience for the first time.

Johnson also added that the NAACP is proud to recognize the distinguished achievements and performances of the nominees.
Therefore, “Wakanda Forever” and “The Woman King” would engage in a competition for a unique motion picture together with “A Jazzman’s Blues”, “Till” as well as “Emancipation”.
Through the help of “Abbott Elementary”, “black-ish” with “The Wonder Years”, ABC emerged 28 nominations. Netflix, which can best be described as the streaming giant also received 15 nominations, Penguin Random House together with Harper Collins publisher in the literary session led with nine, while RCA Records/ RCA inspiration earned 11 nods.
Kendrick Lamar and Beyoncé earned 5 nominations in the music category.
