ASUU TO HOLD A NATIONWIDE RALLY
In a quest to fight for their right and what they feel duly belongs to them, University lecturers under the umbrella of ASUU has declared to carry out a nationwide protest rally to show their dissatisfaction over the ‘no work, no pay’ policy implemented by the Federal Government.
Public Universities under ASUU across the Country will conduct a protest rally within its campus’, and the Union has directed them to declare the day as lecture free day for both lecturers and students.
It could be recalled that the Academic Staff Union of Universities criticized the government over the pro-rata payment.
Prof Emmanuel Osodeke, president of the Union expressed his dissatisfaction, stressing that university lecturers are intellectual workers and should not be paid on the pro-rata basis as if they are casual workers.
The Nationwide rally protest will be carried out with the intention of drawing the attention of Nigerians within the Country and those in the Diaspora, and to express their indescribable dissatisfaction over the the pro-rata payment policy implemented by the Federal Government.
