Taliban Bombs Mosque In Pakistan As Revenge Over Khalid’s Death

At least 61 people were killed and more than 157 people sustained injuries in the Pakistan bomb explosion which happened in a mosque in Peshawar on Monday, 30th January. The deadly explosion took the lives of many worshippers and police officers and injured many.

Khurasani and Sarbakaf through a statement they released disclosed that the bomb blast from the Taliban was revenge over the death of Khalid Khorasani, a member of the TTP militant who was killed last year. Khalid Khorasani was a member of the TTP US foreign terrorists organization which operated in Afghanistan and also in Pakistan.

Omar Khalid Khorasani alongside three senior militant leaders was killed in a mysterious bomb blast in Eastern Afghanistan. The report says that the victim traveled in a vehicle with other top militant commanders on Sunday, 7th August 2022, when their vehicle was targeted with an explosive device leading to the death of Khalid and the militant commanders who traveled with him in the same vehicle.

According to a report by Muhammad Ijah Khan, Peshawar Police chief, noted that the mosque is one of the most secure in the area with the police headquarters and the terrorism and intelligence units located in the area, and about 400 police officers were on duty in the said area during the bomb blast attack.

Sherif noted that the suspects do not have anything to do with Islam, and the Country is very united and works tirelessly in fighting terrorism. Sherif who recently returned from Peshawar expressed shock and sympathizes with the families of the deceased. Describing the attack as inhuman and unimaginable, he added that the perpetrators would surely be brought to book.
