Reselling in Nigeria: What Is It and How To Do It

Reselling in Nigeria What Is It and How To Do It

The act of reselling in Nigeria is common activity and is profitable, because people in Nigeria who become resellers do not need to produce merchandise, but only need to trade it intensively.

Not only can new items be resold, used items can too. It’s like someone who collects items that are still suitable for use, then you buy them in large quantities to be resold.

What is Reselling

Reselling is an activity in which a person or company resells items they have purchased in small or large quantities. People who do reselling are referred to as resellers.

Reselling in Nigeria can be found easily, this is because resellers do not need to buy equipment to process raw materials into goods ready for sale. Simply sell products from other people or companies.

Apart from resellers, there are also dropshippers which are broadly similar to resellers, but there are differences in the sales process. If a reseller has to buy the supplier’s product first, the dropshipper doesn’t need to do that and only markets it.

How Do Reselling Works?

The explanation of how the reselling works is as follows:

1. Define Products

Before starting a reseller business, of course you have to determine the products that you will sell later. When choosing and determining products, try to do an analysis of the problems, concerns and needs that are currently happening in the community.

2. Cooperate With The Right Supplier

Because the main focus of resellers is to sell or market products, you must choose and build partnerships with the right suppliers or manufacturers so that the products you sell are guaranteed both the quality and availability of goods.

It would be better if you have several suppliers. If one of your suppliers runs out of goods or has goods whose quality is not good, you can immediately contact another supplier.

3. Doing Marketing

As we previously said, the essence of the duties and responsibilities of a reseller is to market the products being sold. You can do marketing in various ways, for example using social media or the marketplace.

4. Building Good Relationships With Consumers

With good communication and relationships with consumers, these consumers may someday make purchases at your store again. To build a good relationship, you must provide good service, product explanations and also respond to consumer messages properly.

Benefits of Reselling

There are several benefits that you can get if you run a reselling business.

– Because you have purchased products from manufacturers or suppliers in advance, you can manage the stock of these products.
– Because you have several supplier options, it will be easier for you to develop your business. This is because you don’t depend on just one manufacturer or supplier.
– You can determine the profit that you can get from selling the product yourself. If a manufacturer or supplier determines a selling price with the aim of equalizing prices, you are usually given a reseller price or a lower purchase price.
