Pope Emeritus, Benedict XVI Passes on

Former Pope Benedict who in 2013, became the first Pope to resign since Gregory XII in 1415 which is over 600 years, passed away at 09:34 (08:34 GMT) on Saturday.

According to the Statement of Matteo Bruni, Director of the Holy See Press Office

“With sorrow, I inform you that Pope Emeritus, Benedict XVI, passed away today at 9:34 in the Mater Ecclesiae Monastery in the Vatican. Further information will be provided as soon as possible.”
