1. In 2022, Ethiopian Troops Enter Tigray

The military action began when the Ethiopian prime minister ordered a response to a treasonous attack on federal troops in Tigray.

2. There are Allegations of War Crimes

After the fighting broke out, the United Nations warned of possible war crimes in Tigray. After that, the Ethiopian troops managed to capture the capital of Tigray, namely Mekele. The Ethiopian prime minister then ordered the military operation to be halted and declared complete.

3. Tigray Troops Advance

Then in 2021, the rebels carried out a surprising counterattack aimed at retaking the Mekele region. The rebels refused orders from the US telling Tigray to withdraw.

4. Rebels Retreat

Then the rebels from Tigray said he had withdrawn. And since then the conflict has started to cool down and the Prime Minister of Ethiopia ordered peace so that the military truce would not be prolonged.

5. There is a Surprise

In events on January 7, 2022, Addis Ababa announced an amnesty for several detained figures and prominent opposition leaders to promote national reconciliation.
