Denys Monastyrskyi, Ukraine’s Interior Minister, And Seventeen People Lost Their Lives In a Helicopter Crash

No fewer than 18 persons including Denys Monastyrskyi, the Ukrainian Interior Minister lost their lives in a helicopter crash on Wednesday in Kyiv, the Capital of Ukraine.

Ihor Klymenko, the chief of Ukraine’s National Police who confirmed the incident also disclosed that Denys Monastyrskyi, Ukrainian Interior Minister died in the crash alongside Yevhen Yenin, his deputy, Yurii Lubkovych, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 3 children and 12 other persons also died in the crash.

The Regional Governor of the Country’s Capital, Oleksii Kuleba noted that the 3 minors who lost their lives were all in the kindergarten facility. Though some people attribute the crash to the ongoing Russian war, the cause of the helicopter crash cannot really be ascertained whether it was an accident or related to the war going on with Russia, as no report of a fight has been recently reported in the Country’s Capital, Kyiv.

Since the war with Russia began in February, Monastyrskyi has been Ukraine’s most senior official to have died. Saddened by the incident, Olena Zelenska, Ukraine’s first lady who attended the World Economic Forum Session held in Davos, Switzerland appeared in a sorrowful state with swollen eyes. The Regional Governor, Kuleba, added that 29 other people and 15 children sustained injuries in the crash.
